Personality: To many, it would seem that Saridae has a mixed personality disorder, if they had understanding of such things on Pern. Saridae can be many things.. she can be happy, friendly and helpful..
…but she can also fall into a deep depression in where she just wants to give up.. and why, do you ask? Because Saridae is different from most people in that she has impressed and lost her dragon. Twice. Xyrith, her first fell victim to the plague, and Selkeith her second died as a result of not being able to get along as a re-impressed rider. Both deaths were hard and have taken their toll on the girl She struggles to live her everyday life.. and unfortunately is a bit of a handful for those around her..
..she’s really not much use to the weyr when she’s in such dark moods, which is more often than not, for example, she can’t be left to help with the children.. and neither is she very talented in a craft area.. but the weyr supports her, as they do any of their own.. Inwardly, she’s still struggling to get back on her feet..
Physical description: Saridae appears much older than she actually is.. the toll of being twice dragonless has done that to her. On a good day she appears pale and tired looking, with her hair just thrown up out of the way..
..but on a bad day, well.. you’re lucky if you see her out at all, but if you do, she would best be described as the walking dead. She’s a very thin looking girl, best described as underweight and fragile looking.
History: Saridae was born at Ista Weyr 25 turns ago when things were going well. Her parents were both at the Weyr themselves when they met, her father a healer at the Weyr and her mother having been born there herself had also stayed at the Weyr. Saridae was the only child the pair had, and was their ‘light of day’ she grew up in the Weyr with the other Weyrbrats in the Weyr and got on well with the dragonriders of Ista.
When the first few dragons fell sick, Saridae didn’t realise to the huge scale that it would end up being, and, that same summer she took her place as a candidate on the sands, it wasn’t until she watched so many other dragons die that she started to realise what would happen and how bad it was getting, she became fearful of impressing, seeing so many dragonets dieing on the sands was not something that helped, but her mother pushed her into it.. She stayed to impress her mother, and at 15 she meet her green Xyrith, only to have her taken horribly from her 8 sevendays down the road. Xyrith had been her life and Saridae didn’t take it well when her lifemate was taken from her so quickly.
Saridae was half a mind, full of confusion as to why her dragon had to die when she hadn’t known her so long, and being in the Weyr was not helping. Her parents decided on moving to Fort Hold where her father could continue as a healer, it was thought that it would be easier for their daughter, and indeed it was. But Saridae was never the same.
Fratic to help their little girl it was her parents that sent her back to the weyr in the hope of standing as a candidate again, the view in their mind that another dragon would help her out.. She didn’t have the heart to upset them and so went along with it, with mixed feelings about what she would find.. Would she even impress?
..and she did impress, to Selkieth. A green dragon much unlike Xyrith, and trouble occurred from day one.. The pair were always on rocky ground and just as V’yel started to realise something was wrong, it was too late.. Selkieth paniced one day when her’s wasn’t ‘there’ and went between leaving Saridae dragonless…again.
For 4 turns she has battled through everyday with difficulty, and is still struggling to cope with the ins and outs.. if anything, loosing a dragon for the second time has made the girl worse..

Description: Selkieth is a very pretty dragon, a dainty green, small and petite in appearance with a very dark green hide. Her hide isn’t the solid colour that a lot of Josiath’s clutch had appeared with, but appears to have sight swirls of lighter shades that appear on her chest and belly, that blend in perfectly with her darker green hide.
Personality: Selkieth is a dragon that likes to obsess over things which could be deemed as unnecessary, such as male dragons, her looks, the amount of sleep she gets, laying in the sun..and holding grudges, and ontop of that, spend little time focusing on the things that she should pay attention to, such as drills, work and lessons. Her grudges and revenge ploys are also often over things that someone sensible could be deemed as maybe not worth the effort, such as being told off. For a dragon, Selkieth has a very good memory.. especially when it comes to grudges, and revenge

Description: A small but bulky green was Xyrith, one that given the chance would have gone far.. she would have been small for her colour, possibly one of the smallest dragons in the weyr had she survived. An asset for anywing, at full growth this green would have been agile and fast, but would lack stamina for long flights. Light olive green in apperence she wasn’t one that was a sore sight on your eyes..a single solid colour there was never any doubt of who it was you were looking at.
Personality: A big personality for a little dragon, even at 8 days the little one had been a handful! Always wanting to play and seeming to go on until she was exhausted.. only to wake up and start all over again. She was a fun loving friendly dragon, shy and quiet.. and totally dependant on hers.. to start..
