Persona information (Updated: date sheet was updated. Make sure updates include age!)
Name: Zahal
Pronunciation: Za-hall
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Rank: Wing rider
Birthplace: Runner Station near Fort Hold (Birthdate. 1339.4.1)
Family
Mother: Zahra (50, retired runner/station manager, future)
Father: Halden (51, retired runner/station manager, future)
Personality: Having grown up in a craft where men were the primary actors, Zahal has no real concern towards them. In fact, she's always fit right in, almost as if she were one of the 'guys'. She's not afraid of them or their authority, being completely convinced that she's as equally competent as men. Therefore she's typically very blunt with them. She loved her job as a runner, but she loves her job as a rider even more, taking it on with full seriousness. Everything she does, she does with the intention to complete it to the best of her ability, as close to perfection as possible. She does have a bit of a volatile side her, though, and has been known to get into alteractions, not exactly being willing to back away when those around them think that they can intimidate her into doing what they want. To go with this, she's got a bit of a sharp tongue. What Zahal doesn't have is much of a sense of humor, and thus frequently is left confused by the jokes of those around her. She can be a bit of a flirt, though she seems to do it discretely. When she is caught, she'll take it in stride. After all, she sees nothing wrong with admiring the figures of those around her. Zahal's even got a soft side about her, though it's primarily towards children.
Physical description: Zahal's one of the shorter individuals you might come across, being just five feet tall. But despite what most would consider a bit of a disadvantage, she never has. Her short height is accompanied with a skinny frame, though it's quite healthy over all. She had dark brown eyes and hair to match, which she typically wears in a partially runner-tail, the rest hanging loose and somewhat curly. She's almost always found in trousers and a blouse and running shoes, though she'll occasionally dress up or switch to boots. Her legs and shins have their share of light scars, signs of her old runner days.
History: Zahal was born at a runner station just outside of Fort Hold. She had no siblings, and her mother wouldn't be able to have any other kids after her, as her mother was also very small in stature. Shortly after the birth of Zahal, her mother retired from doing the runs for their craft and started helping run the station. Her childhood was rather uninventful, going through her harper lessons just fine without any real event worth speaking off.
Shortly after she turned ten, she started doing short runs to the Hold. It was there that she first saw the guards. Knowing that she would start running around Pern on her own one day, she started taking lessons from them in hand-to-hand combat. She was glad that they accepted, so every day, even if she didn't have a run to make, she'd go to the Hold and take lessons, then go back. As she started expanding her routes to a larger region, she would gain those same lessons from guards at other holds.
At the age of seventeen, these lessons came in handy one day when she was on her first real long-run from Fort to Ruatha and back. She was on her back-leg when a few holdless individuals jumped her. She managed to fight them off, but it was a watch-rider from Fort Weyr that kept things from getting too iffy. That was the day that she was Searched. She accepted the token from the rider, though she finished her leg first.
Both of her parents, both retired and station managers at that point, were proud when they learned that their only child had been searched and proudly sent her on her way to the Weyr, doing one final run. She delivered the messages before joining the candidate program.
Her time in the program lasted just under a turn before she impressed to a fiesty green Vatanith. Both of them excelled through their weyrling training, even though neither really quite bonded with the other weyrlings. They spent the next few turns working from wing to wing. They always did a good job, they just never quite fit in. Eventually, shortly before she turned 21, she requested a transfer and got sent to High Reaches Weyr.
She had the same "fitting in" issue there that she had at Fort, though part of the problem was with her irritation at the leadership overall incompentence. She found very few riders there that she bonded with, but she did make a name for herself for being extremely reliable, if a bit unpredictable. It took her a few turns, but she finally settled into a wing longer than a few months.
Then the unthinkable happened and Thread returned. Vatanith and Zahal were greatful that they had focused and worked so hard since the green's hatching. It was their persistance that helped the pair survive the fall, even though Vatanith's leg was scored in the fall. And it was that persistance that made them one of the thirteen pairs to be sent back to the past to learn what they could and help bring the weyr back up to par. Little did she realize that one of the riders would steal a gold egg and strand them in the past.

Dragon information
Name: Vatanith
Pronunciation: Va-tah-nith
Age: 7
Colour: Green
Weyrling group: Future-Timers
Wing:
Birthhome: Fort Weyr
Dam/Sire: Unk/Unk
Personality: Vatanith is just about as unpredictable as her rider, easily switching from mood to mood. She's also very snappy. She dislikes pranks, jokes, and playing around. That is, unless it's a hatchling in question. Like her rider, she has a very soft-spot for the youngsters of the weyr. She's got a strong attention span when it comes to making sure the job gets done and it gets done right. And like most greens, she's got a flirty side to her.
Physical description: Vatanith is small, just like her rider. Though by the standards of the pass, she's a regular sized green. She's a bit skinny as well, just like her rider, though she still has a healthy frame. In fact, much about her size and stature mirror her rider, for all she's a dragon. Her hide is a deep dark green with a bit of an olive tint to it. She's got a scoring on her left hind leg, which healed with a minty green color to that. Otherwise she's a solid color.
