It was true that Lorina wasn't certain that Mordecai would be ready to stand in time for Fraith and Tsunath's first clutches, though she wasn't willing to rule those out just yet. There were still about three months left to go before that hatching, so it was still possible that he would be up and on his feet and ready to go by then. Of course, that decision would ultimately be in Eodira's hands, and the candidate master wasn't going to push the issue if the healer woman said no.

As Shayna started to explain the twelve new riders to her charge, Lorina was glad that the Weyrwoman seemed to be keeping things simple for now. A lot had happened since Mordecai had fallen ill back at Igen, and it would take time for him to process it all. To be honest, she wouldn't be surprised if he needed some one to talk to about everything, between Authanth going between and the new arrivals and all the new changes. Never mind the recent incident with the raider clan that a number of their riders had run into just a few days ago. At least, they were kept simple until M'riel made a bit of a surprise visit.

As the Weyrleader explained a bit more why they were there, and as Mordecai asked his questions, she simply listened. There was no reason to rebuke the candidate for those questions, as far as she was concerned. For someone who was completely out of the loop for quite a while, they were entirely relevant questions. And then finally, M'riel left, and she spoke again. "He's right. You need to focus on regaining your strength. It's three months still until Fraith and Tsunath's clutches are to hatch. And Josiath's will hatch not too long after that. We'll be more than willing to answer questions, but for now, perhaps you should rest some more?" she suggested to him.

Shayna had been deciding how to explain further when M'riel had walked in. She had been surprised to see her mate, but returned his kiss before turning back to Mordecai. She listened quietly as M'riel explained just why his wing had come back in time. The Weyrwoman felt bad for Mordecai. The poor boy had missed so much when he had been sick. She couldn't blame him for having so many questions. She knew she would have been the same way.

Shayna nodded in agreement with Lorina once M'riel slipped out. "Getting the proper rest and getting to feeling better is certainly the main thing right now," she smiled. "But of course any of us would be happy to answer any questions you have."

It was a while before Eodira returned to the curtained room that contained Mordecai and his guests, the Weyrhealer giving the young man a pleasant smile that was reflected in her soft blue eyes. “A’right, ev’ry’un! Wrap it up in half a mark, so the laddie can rest some an’ git a chance ta talk with Kylita,” she ordered politely to everyone present. She set down a bundle of clothes and linens on an empty chair and stepped back out as swiftly as she had come, leaving everyone to get their last answers or questions in and to dissipate while Kylita made her way down from the Plateau where she had been tending to a Dragonless soul comfortingly.

Shayna let Lorina take over helping Mordecai as it seemed no one wanted her to try moving that much. So she just settled back in her chair to talk to the young man. Surely that couldn't hurt her. She nodded at Eodira gratefully, glad to have such a good Healer in their midst.

Shayna turned back to Mordecai. "They're from Telgar Weyr," she answered simply, not wanting to go into a long discussion. She wasn't so sure that Mordecai would be up for that anyhow as he was still recooping.
