D’verado smiled and first explained why Voice was speaking for him, “I can’t speak ‘bove a whisper, so Voice talks fer me.” Then he went on to tell her how she would be of use to them. “I know ya’ can talk ta Josiath. I need ya’ ta try ta keep ‘er calm in any way possible. A dragon don’t like it when their Rider’s in pain an’ ‘ey can go so far as ta go Between on us an’ we don’t want ‘at. I need ya’ in ‘ere with Shayna, relayin’ anything’ ya’ can at ‘er ta keep ‘er on the ground. If she stays on the ground, we got a greater chance a keeping’ our senior gold with us, no matter ‘ow much pain Shayna’s in. Think ya’ could do ‘at fer all us?” he asked of the HAD. If Josiath knew as much as possible about Shayna’s predicament, then she should stay grounded without calling on Tsunath and Fraith to try to keep her down.

R’bao took the goldrider’s hand and gave it a gentle squeeze to say without words that he was there for her no matter what. Though he was good at poker when he happened to play, his facial features gave away his worry and fear of the unknown in this situation. As he listened to everything being said, he hoped that he was not going to witness the loss of his child or that of his Lover. Mik had found himself a worried perch a short distance away, getting his peeks in on what was going on with his Pet and the other adult he had come to trust.
Serguth landed nearby Josiath and tried to weasel his way closer to her, but her franticness worried him as well and so he settled for an anxious pace a short distance away, finding himself closer to Duncanth who was quite calm despite the gold’s agitation.

Eodira nodded as she felt the baby’s current position. It was turned the right way, but way too far from the birth canal. A candlemark said that there may be no turning back now, but she was going to give it a try. It could just be a case of early labor due to the bump she had mentioned. Yet if this baby was coming now, she was going to have to perform a rare procedure that was very risky and did not have a very good outcome in most of the occurrences that she had known of. First, she was going to try to stop the labor. If that did not work, then she would have to resort to the procedure. “I need a mug a dark wine an’ some flaxseed,” she ordered of either assistant helping her. She was not going to order the hot bath until she saw the effects of her attempt at slowing or stopping the labor. “Shayna, honey, we’re gonna try ta stop yer labor. Ya’ ain’t the size ‘at Taenia was, so we know ‘ere’s only one in ya’. If we can stall the labor, we’ll do so,” she told the Acting Weyrwoman, face serious, yet comforting at the same time.
Once the wine and flaxseed was fetched, she crushed the seeds into a pulp and mixed them in with the wine before raising the mug to Shayna’s lips. “Drink up, sweety. Don’ think ‘bout the taste. ‘Is should relax ya’,” she said in an orderly fashion. Once the gold rider would drink of the wine, it would become a waiting game for a candle mark to see if there was any slowing of the labor.
