For Siarie, the month to inclusion had dragged. Whilst they hadn’t all strictly kept to the rules of not talking with people outside of the Weyrling barracks, the majority of the time had been in just that place.. only, Sherath wasn’t one to let her ‘mix’ with everyone else. The gold did not like to share hers at all, not one little bit. As a result, Siarie and Sherath had not really developed friendships with their clutch mates – but neither did their bond strengthen as much as maybe some of her previous friends had.
Infact, Siarie had been quite disheartened during her first month.. not only did she miss her own bed, her ‘father’ and Evie her best friend and sister. She’d had to give up Blu, her firelizard. Caid had looked after him on her behalf, but now that their month was over, Siarie would have the flit back, and Sherath would[/] get used to it.
She had waited until the gold was asleep, knowing better than to antagonise her in advance by going off on her own, without the golds approval..and also having to explain what her plan was. She’d tried very hard to avoid thinking about the flit all day, knowing Sherath would only pick up on those stray thoughts and cause problems, and thus, she had returned in the cover of darkness with the little blue on her shoulder. It had been a joyful reunion, the firelizard chattered both excitedly, and scolded her about being ‘abandoned’ and then refused to leave her shoulder again. The rapidly growing dragon was heavily sleeping when Siarie siddled up alongside dragon couch and sat on her own furs on the temporary bed they held as Weyrlings..
The little blue stood on her shoulder, images flashing in the young girls face of gold.. the blue appeared to be quite interested in the young dragon, but then Blu had always been a social little creature, and enjoyed company of both dragon, lizards and people.. especially people with food! Of course, she wasn’t surprised, Blu would never had been the problem.. it was Sherath she was apprehensive about.
{{How dare it...}} Came the feminine, strong and angry mind-speak that was clearing her gold. The dragon had obviously woken up when Siarie was distracted by the little blue. Startled, the young woman’s eyes turned to the gold who had suddenly gotten to her feet and was sticking her nose right into the Blue’s face.
Images again filled Siarie’s mind as the blue started to explain to the gold that he had been there first and the nasty gold would need to share *his*, the little creatures anger was soon becoming apparent and starting to bristle the golds own short temperament. {[MINE!}} She bellowed, snorting at the blue to try and dislodge him from the shoulder of her rider. {{Make it leave.. I do not like it.}} She sulked, wrapping her tail around her riders leg protectively, eyeing up the blue the entire time. {{I did not allow it to be here, and it thinks you are its..}} She scoffed, {{I will not share.}} She added in a matter of factly tone, and followed up with the order of {{Be gone!}}
The blue did leave, with a vow that he would be back to get his own back on the big, mean gold.. His cries of disbelief echoing throughout the barracks before he poped between, back to Cai his beautiful and intelligent gold friend.
