The events from the day before came rushing to her mind the moment she woke up early the next morning. Not even Pern's sun had broken the horizon yet, and maybe it was just after midnight when she woke. Not everything fell into place in order though. In fact, it was quite the jumbled mess at first as she laid there, trying to piece together everything, including the body that lay next to her. Who knew, she realized then, that flights could be so overwhemling and exhausting that they'd probably just all but passed out afterwards. But what brought her to thinking it over was the dull pain she felt through her connection to her gold.
Fraith had risen. That much she knew clear as day. And, through the smugness that she also felt, she supposed her gold was satisfied with her catcher. But beneath that, there was still slight anger boiling, just a small thread of it, and that through her off balance. Fraith had to be perhaps one of the most laid back of the four golds there, so feeling anger, in any degree or amount, was unnatural for her, and that forced her to try and remember more.
Tsunath had also risen. That fact she remember first. Tsunath had risen mere seconds after her Fraith, and then challenged them. Now she understood the anger. How dare that youngster challenge them? Well she wasn't surprised, considering how volatile the gold could be. But realizing that, she understood the pain. Her gold was injured, and there had been a fight between the two. She didn't remember all the details, as the flight had been too far gone by that point. But she knew that her gold and Tsunath had challenged and met in the skies and that meant that she had to get to her gold to see how she was.
Copper appeared not far away from her when he realized his Pet was awake, just as Ardalae pushed herself away from the man that was beside her to get up and find her clothes. He had more news, he brought her more news. She demanded from him first the state of the third of their set, and so he showed her the gold sleeping soundly next to Hizareth, something that startled her. She and T'jas well...they weren't entirely the best of friends. But at least she was able to take inventory of her gold that away, seeing the damaged and torn wings that would ground her for a while, and the various scratches and bite marks that littered over her. She assumed, of course, that Shiada and the other healers had already been there to tend to the gold's wounds, and she had to wonder how bad off Tsunath was. Copper had no intention of sharing that news with her though. No, he brought other news. He was a good brownling after all, to keep her informed.
He brought news that had her gasp outloud and, if T'jas wasn't already awake, flop on the bed with such force that it was bound to wake him up as tears flooded to her eyes. The overwhelming distress from her rider was enough to wake Fraith, who keened softly, head raising from where she'd slept moments before. Both of the pair were quite distressed, one learning of the death of their senior gold, and the other knowing that she was, in part, at fault. And Copper trilled rather loudly to see what the news had done to His...he hadn't realized that such news would distress both so much.
