With our upgrade to ProBoards V5, we now have the option to have multiple accounts under one email or main (global) account. Now, we have three choices to this: Global, OoC/IC, and OoC/IC Characters.
Global:
This one is like we've always played with all your posting being done from one solo account. For those of you that dislike change or simply don't want to mess with switching accounts to post here and there, you can choose this option and continue playing as you've always done so.
OoC/IC:
This one is a multi-account setting where you have a global account (your name) and an account for each of your characters. Your global account can only post to the OoC areas of Izuko Island and you will need to switch to each sub-account (your characters) to post anything IC. In other words, you will be posting OoC as yourself and IC as whichever character you are currently replying to a thread with.
OoC/IC Characters:
This one, you may or may not have a global account (completely your choice). You will have an account for each character that you create and can post OoC and ICly with each character account. If submitting a new character, you will only be permitted to post OoC until your character is approved, then you will be able to post ICly as well.
Of course, these options are entirely your own choice and you can opt in or out of them as you discover which would be more comfortable for you.
Note: If you choose the sub-account options, you can choose to do the following under your profile settings of the sub-accounts (character accounts) when you edit your profile:
-Under Personal: make sure to note in the signature that the character is played by you, so that we can easily recall whom we're writing with.
-Under Settings: you can choose to enable drafts of your messages, so that you do not lose your work if something happens to your connection (or so I've been told-haven't tested this theory yet). You can also choose this setting in your global profile.
-Under Privacy: you can hide your character's online status, so that the members online list doesn't clutter up too much. (of course, this is entirely up to you as our member base is so small yet)
You will also need to hide your birthday, because it will show yours, not your character's otherwise.
