The Little Weyr that survived the worst!
The DragonRiders of Pern have been through much. In less than two decades, the planet's dragon population was decimated to less than a dozen adults and two clutches yet to hatch. The survivors took shelter at Ista Weyr, renamed TriStar Weyr by the only bronzerider left. Those clutches hatched and they all Impressed, two Queens included, but their trials were not yet over. Within a few turns, the Weyr was being attacked, a Queen was killed, another Queen joined them from turns in the past, and their home was destroyed by a volcanic earthquake. Pern's dragons were forced to Igen Weyr, and even then things did not end. After a poisoned water supply, they were forced to an island never before inhabited, just to escape the persecution of non-Riders that believed the draconic era to have ended. Within a few months of arrival, however, more disaster struck and their senior Queen was killed during the long overdue maiden flights of the two youngest Queens.
Welcome to Izuko Island Weyr, named after an old Terran word for survivors, home of Pern's only remaining dragons. Riders from 200 turns in the future have joined the population, but the Weyr's trials are not yet over. Winter has struck the island hard, forcing the Riders to raid the main lands for tithes that they should be receiving. Worse yet: Thread's long awaited return has begun. With two clutches on the Sands, the Weyr is doing what it can to defend the rest of Pern from their timeless enemy. And rumors are surfacing of unusual activity in the long abandoned High Reaches Weyr....Activity that could change the course of dragon-kind forever…
What We Have to Offer:
-Loose canon with Timing and Re-Impressions involved
-Two clutches on the Sands in desperate need of Candidates and a third clutch on the way
-Many adoptable dragonriders from past clutches, with every color but gold available
-The opportunity to get involved in a major plot involving more Future Riders and a potential leadership coup
-The potential to have a new character, which will be discovered soon
-Character positions of all varieties: Crafters, Dragonriders, Weyrlings, Weyrfolk, Future Riders, and even the elusive Raiders
With our holiday hiatus finally over, we're ready to kick off our largest plot yet! Are you daring enough to get involved?
