Persona Information: (Updated: 15th July 2012)
Name: M'cleod (Macleod)
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Wingrider
Birthplace: The Wilds near Igen Weyr
Family: Father: Macleer (deceased)
Mother: Eodira (55-Healer)
Brothers: Macir (deceased), Leereod (deceased)
Sisters: Eodma (deceased), Macira (30, Apprentice Healer), Lira (25, Wingrider)
Significant others: Keeva, Rider of Green Faeth (both deceased), Taenia, Rider of Gold Authanth (21, Weyrwoman)
Children: Nileod (3, Weyrbrat), Nianeod and Laene (newborn twins)
Personality: All in all, M'cleod is a cheerful, friendly guy, but he hides his broken heart from all but his dragon whom he is the closest with since the brown's near death. Although he is cheery more often than not, there are some days that he chooses not to smile unless his lifemate makes a comment to cheer him and his eyes tell no lie of what his emotions are. Since Duncanth had caught Authanth, M'cleod has opened his heart again to the gold's rider and the old "everything will turn out in the end" attitude has returned to the former Raider. Now there is a more confident Leader in him since he has led the Weyr through most of its struggles beside his Lover.
Physical description: Mid-back length hair as black as the night is always pulled back in a half-ponytail fashion with a fishtail braid that is secured with a piece of leather string. Chin-length bangs tend to fall loose half-way through a day's work but stay out of his deep, sky blue eyes. Standing around 5'8", he appears thin due to his eating habits, but he is all muscle and sinew beneath the golden tanned skin and a someone to be left alone if he feels like fighting. A scar trails across his right cheek bone, three others trace along his back from right shoulder to left hip, and another stretches across his back from shoulder blade to shoulder blade. He wears simple leather wrist wraps, a braided leather necklace, and a blue-colored stone earring in his right ear, and sports darker colored clothing, but in warm weather can often be found without his sleeveless shirt.
History: Born in the wilds in a Raider clan, Macleod had no easy life from day one. He grew up, learning how to fend for himself and never expect anything in return for good deeds, but a promise made is a promise kept. At 12 turns, he was accidental prey to a wild feline and was clawed in the back, but his oldest brother was there to save him. At 15, Firehead took hold of Macleod and nearly caused his death, but he managed to survive. 17 turns brought on an ill-fated raid against another Raider clan and few of his clan survived. Another attack from the clan killed nearly all of his clan, leaving him with a deep gash down his face and a select few others alive. Finding nothing left of their clan, what remained of them wandered The Wilds for a couple turns.
At 19, Macleod and his "clan" entered Igen Weyr the day before a Hatching. Green Faeth noticed potential in Macleod just before the eggs began to rock and her rider insisted that the teen Stand. The Hatching brought a small, very dark brown to join with Macleod, changing his name to M'cleod, but most folk still called him Mac, including his dragon. At 21, M'cleod's brown Duncanth decided to fly his first mating flight and caught green Faeth, bringing their riders together in a "romance meant to be". Life was well and happy for M'cleod until disaster struck the Weyr later that turn. Dragons began to take ill for no unexplained reason and they were being taken by the illness. Despite all efforts, Faeth caught the illness a turn later and passed away, her rider suiciding before anyone could stop her. M'cleod was left heartbroken, but his aches were quickly put aside when his own dragon started to worry about catching the illness. After quick consideration, M'cleod and those he loved left the Weyr to hopefully survive the illness and live in The Wilds again. But fate had something else in store for them and Duncanth fell ill. Somehow, some way, Duncanth pulled through, but took a good many moons to even be able to fly again.
At 23 M'cleod and his family returned to Igen to find it deserted and sought out the only Weyr left in tact, Tristar Weyr, formerly Ista Weyr. It was there that M'cleod drifted back into Weyrlife, his mother and twin sister taking on their Healing Craft and his younger, dragonless sister lived day to day in tears. It was two turns and many friendships later that Duncanth rose to the challenge of the first golden dragon to Rise since the Plague and Duncanth caught her. M'cleod took Weyrleadership in stride as he took everything and when Authanth's small clutch hatched, M'cleod couldn't be happier, despite his worry, that a tiny green had picked his younger sister for a lifemate, one of two dragonless that had re-Impressed.
When the disappearances and murders took place, M'cleod led a few others to find their Weyrwoman for she was the last of the mature golden dragons. Successfully bringing Taenia home, M'cleod worked at getting the Weyr back on track until Authanth's next flight including the welcoming of golden Josiath brought forward from the past by Brownrider Kiala. Authanth's next flight was won by a bronze as Duncanth had been struck by lightning during the chase. After a couple of months recovery, Duncanth was able to fly again and rebuilt his strength day by day, but the drilling that the new Weyrleader T'jas had put in place was damaging for the little brown's recovery process. Finally talking some sense into the young Weyrleader, the drills eased, but Authanth's next flight, Duncanth won and this time, M'cleod changed things up for the better of the Weyr, health and security.
Things went well, including a wonderful baby boy to Taenia, until the ground began shaking in M'cleod's 27th turn and Tristar Weyr was split in two by a massive earthquake along with a volcanic eruption. There were many casualties during the Disaster including some dragon and rider deaths during their hasty evacuation to Igen Weyr, the closest and the more obvious place to go in the Weyrwoman's mind. Once things settled at Igen Weyr, Duncanth continued to catch Authanth when she Rose and M'cleod continued to lead throughout more trials of attacks on the Weyr, the root being Holders that believed that dragonriders were no longer needed because they believed that Thread would never return, Nileod turning into a calm, but typical weyrbrat.
It is now, after a poisoned water supply, in M'cleod's 30th turn, that he is leading another evacuation to a new haven, uninhabited by mankind and secluded to the point that it would be extremely difficult for anyone to attack their folk again, first found by himself and D'verado. It is on the island they named Izuko from an old Terran meaning of 'survivor', that M'cleod hopes to keep the Weyr's inhabitants safe while they gear up for the return of Thread as signs are beginning to show...
Things went smoothly, Authanth clutching another small clutch, but that was the end of the good fortunes as Fraith and Tsunath finally Rose...at the same time. Authanth died in the struggle to separate the two younger golds and M'cleod struggled to keep Taenia at his side and to run the Weyr in her mindless absence. Then 13 Riders from 200 turns in the Future came bearing a gold egg. As M'cleod clashed with the Wingleader right off, things have been tense for the brownrider.
When gold Josiath Rose to finalize the new Senior Queen and make Shayna the official Weyrwoman, M'cleod held Duncanth back from Chasing and so the winner became the Future Wingleader M'riel and now M'cleod is watching closely for any hints of the mistakes of T'jas' Lead so as to nip them in the butt before they get that far again...

Dragon information
Name: Duncanth
Age: 11
Colour: Brown
Wing: Fire Dancers
Birthhome: Igen Weyr
Sire/Dam: Gold Keyith and Bronze Jakth
Personality: Duncanth is a friendly brown, preferring to see others appear happy, but does tend to give comfort when it is needed. You can trust him to make someone smile or even laugh with an antic or a stray thought he decided to throw another human's way. Since his near death, he is quite excited when he sees another dragon, knowing that few remain on Pern and he will gladly fly any mating flight just to say he did so. Currently partial to gold Authanth, Duncanth sticks to her like glue at night and sticks to his rider like glue during the day, never wanting the rider to leave his sight for even a moment since the Destruction of Tristar Weyr.
Physical description: Duncanth is a very dark brown, appearing nearly black in most lights. At night, he is only a shadow in the sky. He is quite small for his color, but he doesn't let that bother him for his wings and tail are an extra third longer than they should be, giving him longer flights. Coupled with his lean build, he is very acrobatic if the situation shall call for it. His underside is a few shades lighter than the rest of him, as are his wingsails.
