Persona Information: (Updated: 30th November 2010)
Name: D'verado {Desverado} (aka: Whisper or Silent and various others)
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Assistant WeyrlingMaster
Birthplace: Fort Weyr Wilds
Family: Mother: Vergilina (47) - Leader's Lady of River Raider Clan
Father: Desademon (52) - Raiderleader of River Raider Clan
Brothers: Linon (26), Sadver (24)
Sisters: Demina (29), Versadina (28), Dena (26), Gilmina (23)
Significant others: Katlyn of blue Delkth (26) (Weyrmate)
Children: Adolynn (3-Weyrbrat)
Personality: Restless from turns of living in a Raider Clan, D'verado rarely sits still, although, when he is still, it usually signals that he is either thinking of his past, something is bothering him, or he is planning something, more often than not the latter and lately he's done a lot of planning. His eyes give away his emotions since Voice (described below) can only relay his faintly whispered words. He tends to be defensive when someone or thing startles him, often unintentionally causing harm, though he has gotten better at restraining himself. He is quite the active young man, usually doing one of his many hobbies to keep from becoming bored. He enjoys INVITED attention, but doesn't like to be the center of attention. Since coming back to Weyrlife, D'verado has found his strength with the Weyrlings and teaching them a mix of the old ways and the new ways with a little survival on the side. With the way things are, you never know when you might need it.
Physical description: He has dirty blonde and extremely wavy hair that appears somewhat curly (especially when wet) and falls nearly to his waist, but it is usually seen braided messily or banded. He stands around 5'8" and is very lean in appearance with slightly defined muscles. His eyes are an intimidating, yet friendly dark green and usually sparkle with intelligence. A simple tattoo of a shipfish and a dragon trails down his right arm from his biceps to his wrist, signifying his favorite interests.
A faint, wide scar can be seen beneath his jaw from ear to ear. Scars are easily noticed against his dark golden skin from the point of his collar bones to the lower rib of each of his sides (forming an upside down "V") and a scar cuts low across his stomach. He also has other, less noticed scars around his wrists and ankles and in his left calf.
As for clothing, he usually sports an earthen colored woven headband, woven wraps around his wrists, brown fingerless gloves, and black wherhide pants. When he does wear a shirt, it is usually loose and of darker earthen colors. As with his shirt, he can normally be seen barefoot, but when he does wear his boots, they are a very dark brown wherhide.
For jewelry, he wears a rare, tooth-like shell on a black cord around his neck and a rare, looped and thinly spiraled shell earring dangles from his right ear. He hides a knife in his right boot and another in the wavy curls of his hair and a belt knife is always at his right side.
History: Born in an Inn and raised on a ship by Raiders, Desverado had an unusual childhood, always taught to do his best without thought of a reward. He had learned to swim by his 5th turn and found much enjoyment playing with shipfish, sometimes, but rarely, hearing what they said. By his 8th turn, he had learned how to fight and to defend himself and attended his first raid at 10 turns.
Taken captive in his 11th turn, Desverado was nearly hung to death, but Slyfer, a fellow River Raider and mentor, saved him, leaving the lad with a thin scar from the rope used for the deed and hardly any audible voice. A few moons later, Desverado returned to the raids and found a young avian during an inland raid. A bond grew between the two and the avian has yet to leave Desverado's sight since. A turn later, Desverado realized that his avian could "repeat" what he said, allowing others to hear a rough translation.
At 15, Desverado was nearly disemboweled in a raid and bedridden for almost two moons before he could move around with ease again. Fully recovering a half turn later, he joined the raids again.
During a Turns End raid in his 16th turn, Desverado and a few others of his clan were captured by a rival clan and tortured to death in front of each other. Out of six River Raiders, only Linon, Desverado, and Slyfer were still alive when a rescue party led by Desademon stopped the Raiders from finishing their job. Slyfer passed away less than a sevenday later from his wounds and Desverado was bedridden again with deep wounds in his chest and sides as well as his calf, somehow managing to pull through and live on. It took him nearly a turn before he could return, with a vengeance, to the raids, determined NOT to be tortured again.
In his 17th turn, a dragon from Fort Weyr Searched him while the ship was docked after a raid. He Impressed brown Outlath his first morning at the Weyr, taking on the name of D'verado by that evening. Shortly into his training, he took a fancy toward a fellow weyrling when her dragon became ill and his brown seemed to be able to help. Toward the end of that turn, he accepted a pup from one of her canine's litters.
Then the Plague struck and he nearly panicked. He decided to leave and join up with his clan again, his friend coming along with him, though they had limited Between training. They wound up making it to the Southern Continent with his family and remained there for several turns. Now, wary but wondering, perhaps hoping, they returned to the north to seek out those that might have survived.
During their journey North, the pair were attacked by a group of people set on destroying what was left of dragonkind and knowing that if the rider died, the dragon died. Katlyn was injured badly and the dragons set out in a relay to call for help. Their call answered, a rescue party showed up just in time to bring them back to the safety of the Weyr.
Shortly after arriving at the Weyr and having a short bout with the current Weyrleader due to life before their dragons, mysterious murders and kidnappings toppled with the disappearance of the Weyrwoman. D'verado went with the small group to find her and they succeeded in bringing her and another home safely. Since then, the brownrider has found his place as Assistant WeyrlingMaster to the Weyrlings of the Weyr.
Then Disaster struck. Tristar Weyr was shaken in two by the earthquake and volcanic eruption and D'verado led the youngest group of Weyrlings straight-flight toward Igen Weyr, knowing that there was going to be large amounts of muscle damage to the young dragons before they could rest at Igen Weyr. Returning as soon as he could afterward, he kept hoping that his canine had not been a casualty of the Disaster. As luck would have it, both Kisa and Peace, her dam and Katlyn's canine, had survived the Disaster and he was able to bring them home to Igen.
Only a few months after settling in at Igen Weyr, was D'verado blessed with a healthy daughter to Katlyn and he has been happy ever since. It's been 3 turns since then and he was one of the ones to discover their new haven to escape the attacks of Holders on their few numbers. With any luck, they will be able to find peace once again before Thread returned to Pern's skies...

Dragon information
Name: Outlath
Age: 10
Colour: Brown
Wing: Sunny Springs
Birthhome: Fort Weyr
Dam/Sire: Gold Josiath and Bronze ?
Personality: He is hardworking when the job calls for it, but loves to play, as does any young creature. He can be childlike, wanting what he wants before complying to his rider's wishes, but can usually be persuaded for a compromise. He is quite stubborn, giving his rider a fair challenge to work with, but he can be very patient when the need arises. He is very social, preferring to start out friendly, but does tend to annoy others by being overly social at times. Since the plague that took nearly all the dragons, he has become a bit more reserved and easier to persuade. With all of the attacks, he has become a rather protective dragon of any left in his charge or attached to his rider.
Physical description: He is a khaki color and larger than the average brown. Darker shades follow along his ridges and seem to line his wingsails as well as a darker spot that rests where his tail meets his body. He has a very light brown, nearly white color for his wing membranes, giving him an unusual distinguishing mark.

Crafter information
Craft name: Raised in the Raider Craft. (Which falls under Holdless.)
Rank in craft: RescueRaider
Specialty (if one): Recon, Planning, Aiding with Injuries
Turns in craft: 21
Where studied: The Wilds of Fort and the South
Miscellaneous: Highest rank achieved would be that of RescueRaider (roughly equal to a wingleader or wingsecond) which means that he is usually asked to help with and/or lead a rescue party to retrieve any of their clan that may have been captured or killed during a raid. His specialties usually lie in recon, planning, and aiding with injuries. His spiraled shell earring can be used for sutures as well as aid in an escape where locks may be involved. His weaknesses in the craft are when he is captured where he will fight until he can hardly stand, therefore earning him more "punishment" than he should have gotten.
