Personality: Aquila is a very bright girl, but definitely quirky. She’s the kind of person who enjoys being different, partly just to bother more conservative members of society. She dresses outlandishly, is one of the only dragonriders to have a tattoo and has the most scandalous love life she possibly can. She’s really good with machines, and has invented some improvements to old ones. When she was at the crafthall, she was always the one to accept new technology or radical ideas first. Aquila is a friendly person, and she’s also a bit goofy. She loves to laugh and have fun in her spare times and she’s always picking a new hobby. Like collecting seashells, or cooking or woodcarving..and then she gives up and picks a new one. She’s a bit of a slob and is easily distractible as well as endlessly cheerful. She’s the kind of person who always seems to be brimming with enthusiasm, and even when she’s pouting over somethings, she’s not really upset.
Physical description: Aquila is a petite woman, slender and only about 5’3”. She plays up her little girl looks by wearing her straight black hair in pigtails and wearing a lot of pink and black. She has light brown eyes and an impish face with a little snub nose. She’s in fairly good shape but she doesn’t look either overly muscled or curvy. She makes a lot of her own clothes, just to keep them quirky, especially liking long brightly colored stockings under short pants or a skirt, with black boots. She has a tattoo of a blue dragon flaming on her back, and she has four piercings in her right ear and two in her left She usually just wears little hoops or studs in them.
History: Born the second child to crafter parents at Tillek Hold, Aquila was always near the sea. She had a fairly permissive upbringing, learning to swim practically before she could walk, and spending a lot of her time outside, fishing, learning to paddle small boats in the surf and hunting seashells and firelizard eggs. She was loved by her parents and perhaps even a little spoiled, but they encouraged her to go her own way, indulging her emerging oddities. Living so close to the beach also enabled her to impress two firelizards by the time she was ten, which she named Gear and Sprocket.
Her father was a smith, and as she was a curious young girl, he began to teach her some of what he near when she was eight turns of age. He was surprised that she took to it like a duck to water, and she especially was good with machines and gadgets. She was more than ready for apprenticeship at the normal age of twelve, and she was sent to Crom to continue her training. There she made many friends and distinguished herself both by her cleverness and her tendency to do anything she could to tweak the noses of her elders. She had several lovers, mostly men but a few women as well, and she caused something of a scandal. So when she walked the tables at the age of eighteen, the hall was quite happy to ship her off to High Reaches Hold.
Three turns later, she and her master attended a Hatching at High Reaches Weyr, and to her lasting surprise, she was chosen right from the Stands by blue Duhath. Although it certainly put a monkey-wrench in her career aspirations, she loved Duhath immediately and eventually found the weyr a much more congenial place for someone of her personality. After weyrling training, she and Duhath were trained as Searchriders, a duty which they both highly enjoyed. A few months past her 26th nameday, she was approached by the weyrleader to join a group of riders going back 200 Turns to learn to fight Thread. It sounded very exciting, and Duhath agreed, so off they went. Unfortunately, two of their fellows had stolen the gold egg from the Queen’s clutch. It is now likely they will never be allowed to return home as planned, and though Aquila was shocked, she realized she really wasn’t leaving anything behind that she couldn’t do without, and certainly the weather was an improvement.

He always seems to be in the pinnacle of good health, yet one couldn’t call him handsome exactly, because there’s just something goofy about him. His hide is a deep sky blue, like a cloudless summer noon, and is marked by royal blue tiger stripes on his legs and pale polka dots on his flanks. Physical description: Gear is a very big and blocky firelizard, Even slower in the air than the average brown, he makes up for it with strength. His hide is copper mottled with rust, looking very much like metal left out to the elements.

Physical description: Sprocket is a bright lime green with darker stripes all along her dorsal ridge and grass green speckles on her legs and tail. She is slender and wide winged, very quick and an extreme acrobat.
