It was a bright warm morning out, almost tropical in feeling. The sun shone brightly in the sky. A gold dragon lay out on the beach, small, and almost grey in nature. Beside her lay a much larger, but also greying, bronze. The two dragons slept peacefully. A woman laid up against the gold. No, her gold. The gold was the woman's gold, and the man who she was laying with was the rider of the bronze. Like their dragons, they were greying. It was obvious both had seen their full life span.
A large group of children played nearby while some young adults were working on building up a bonfire. Other dragons lay nearby, or were swimming the water with the shipfish that lived in this cove. One of the children waved and called out to the oldest riders there, yelling "Hi Grandma!!" The woman smiled and managed a small wave back. These were her children, their spouses and children, and her grand children, and even her great grandchildren. Four generations all littered this beach, many with dragons, some without. In some cases, it was appearant that there were new members to the family on their way. Many of the children played in the waves. It was peaceful age.
The woman turned to the man she was resting with. "It's good to know we saw the full Pass through, isn't it love?" she asked him, and he nodded. A small tear was there though, for they had lost loved ones to Thread's menace. The woman's face also seemed sad, though it was a peaceful sad. "You know I'll never leave you right?" he told her, and she smiled, nodding before leaning her head up against him, and falling asleep in a nap.
Some time later that morning, soft keens filled the air around them. A young woman turned as her gold joined them. ((What is it love?)) she asked her gold, who replied, ((Lady Fraith and Zarepheth are gone.)) The woman jolted and went slowly to her grandmother's side. She knelt as her weyrmate joined her, the man leaning over to take their pulse. He looked up and shook her head. Both had died, peacefully, in their sleep.
Ardalae gasped, jolting up and pulling the covers off of her and K'ryn. She shivered violent and quickly wrapped herself back up again. She was panting heavily, but Copper chirped softly, having been woken up when he tumbled off of her. ((Mine?)) Fraith called sleepily. It was then, and only then, that she realized it had been a dream.
